Die Bandbreite bei Captivate analysieren
Dank schneller Internetverbindungen muss bei Dateien im Internet nicht mehr auf jedes MegaByte geachtet werden. Ob ein Projekt 11 oder 13 MB gross ist, macht beim Streamen oder herunterladen mit z.B. mit DSL 16000, nicht wirklich viel aus. Das stimmt zwar prinzipiell, aber auch nur solange wie Sie User im Büro oder zumindest mit einem schnellen WLAN ansprechen möchten. Aber wie sieht es mit dem mobilen Lernen aus? Wer sich mit einem Iphone mobil Ihr ELearning anschauen möchte, für den kann die Grösse und die damit verbundene Ladegeschwindigkeit nicht unwichtig sein. Niemand wartet gerne.
Analyze the Captivate Bandwidth
Because of the fast internet connections you must not pay attention to each mega byte of files in internet. It does not matter if a project has a 11 or 13 Mb size when you stream or download with DSL 16000, for instance. It works in princip, but as long as you want to speak with user in the office or at least with fast WLAN. How do the mobile learning look like? Who wants to see his/her eLearning with Iphone, does not to wait and pay attention how big is it and how long it will take to be downloaded.

Buttons with roll over effect
Computer users are get used that the links and buttons change their view as you go over it with your mouse. You should not abandon this habit, but the transparent klick boxen in Captivate cannot change the stand. For the best you should use the transparence as advantage. You should change the software first of all and open flash.
Here you can create a button and the stands (over, down, hit) define. A linking should not be given here. You should import the created in Captivate software and put the transparent click box on it – and it is ready!

Computernutzer sind es gewöhnt, dass Links und Buttons ihr aussehen verändern sobald man mit dem Mauszeiger darüber fährt. Mit dieser Gewohnheit sollte man nicht brechen, aber die transparenten KLick Boxen in Captivate können natürlich nicht den Zustand wechseln.
Am besten macht man sich also die Transparenz zum Vorteil. Wechseln Sie dafür erstmal die Software und öffnen Flash. Hier können Sie jetzt einen Button erstellen und die Zustände (Over, Down, Hit) definieren. Eine Verlinkung muss an dieser Stelle nicht angegeben werden.
Lock slides
Captivate has a funktion which is being appreciated by expirienced users but can frustrate beginners. The lock function, or as it called in english version „lock slide“. This function allows you to look at sides but not to change it. It is very useful when you have to work with many colleauges, thus you can prevent that somebody can change (unintentional) the source-file.

Captivate verwendet eine Funktion, die der erfahrene User sehr schätzt, aber den Anfänger schnell frustieren kann. Die Sperrfunktion, oder wie es in der englischen Version heisst "lock slide".
Die Funktion erlaubt es Ihnen nun die Seite zu betrachten, aber nicht versehentlich etwas daran zu ändern. Dies ist bei einer Zusammenarbeit mit mehreren Kollegen nicht unpraktisch, weil man verhindert, dass jemand (ungewollt) etwas an der Source-Datei ändert.
Add audio files to a project
If you want to add audio files to a project, you can use the recording fuction of Captivate. I recommend you to use such audio tools as Adobe Audition for higher qulity recording. With this programm you have more possibilities to edit the audio files.
After the editting, the first step is to compress the audio files.(mp3). Attention! You should import the mp3 files in Captivate, they will be once again compressed with release. It can lead to bad result.
Projekte vertonen
Möchten Sie Projekte vertonen, ist es möglich die Aufnahmefunktion von Captivate zu benutzen. Für qualitativ höherwertige Aufnahmen empfehle ich aber Audiotools wie Adobe Audition zu benutzen. Hier haben Sie weitaus mehr Möglichkeiten die Audiodatei zu bearbeiten.
Nach der Bearbeitung ist gewöhnlich der erste Schritt die Audiodatei zu komprimieren (.mp3). Doch Vorsicht! Importieren Sie mp3 Dateien in Captivate, werden diese mit der Veröffentlichung nocheinmal komprimiert. Das kann zu äußerst schlechten Ergebnissen führen.
